I have expanded and refined an old game jam game of mine, and now I'm very proud to present...

      Misspelt Poets Society

The aim of the game is to find spelling mistakes in various classic poems. The misspellings are randomized each time you start a level, and the goal is to get as many points as possible.

Find one mistake = 100 points
Click on a word that was not misspelt = -50 points
Finish a spread quickly = lots of extra bonus points

Clear four poems to unlock a batch of four more, for a total of 16 poems.

Most (but not all) of the featured writers are modernist, since that's a style I personally enjoy. The modernists thought it essential to move away from the merely personal towards an intellectual statement that poetry could make about the world. It makes for compelling reading, and at best it surely says important things about the universal human experience.

      Featured authors:

      • Edgar Allen Poe
      • Jenny Joseph
      • Sara Teasdale
      • John Donne
      • Alfred Tennyson
      • Robert Frost
      • Christina Rossetti
      • Walt Whitman
      • Emily Dickinson
      • Dylan Thomas
      • William Blake
      • Percy Bysshe Shelley
      • John Betjeman

      ... and even more!

There is a slight bias towards US authors, but that's probably because I wanted poems in English, and many of the greats are Americans. I wanted to include my favourite poetry author, fellow Swede Karin Boye, but in the end I thought that the text lost too much in the translation to English, so I decided against it.

I like how the bonus countdown makes me feel anxious to hurry up and find all the typos
