Set Depth Sprite Doesnt seem to work

I made My Sprites, set the image and set the depth of my sprites to depth 0 for the first sprite and 1 for the second but i still can't see my second sprite. doesn't 0 fall behind 1 like 0 for background and 1 for the character sprite so the character sprite should be on top?
