@Tranceaholic Select the program in the program selector. Press X for Program Options. Then select Share Program. This will then be visible to anyone who you have friended in the Friends section of Fuze.

@Nisse5 Just a follow-up, I was heavily using this last night to pick some colors for something I just started. Useful utility!

Good advice! Writing comments is a very important part of writing code generally. I'm still learning just how useful this can be!

Just to make a couple of things clearer in this post:

To copy a program to the user sections, go to the "Fuze Projects", then click the X button to see the program options. This is listed at the bottom of the screen as "X Program Options".

This opens a button to copy the project into your own programs. Once you've done that, the program will appear in your projects when you press R, as @kendog400 has pointed out.

It's a lot of work to comment every line of code in there but researching it using the help will certainly level you up!

Steve, I feel like I very much understand where you're coming from. I get frustrated with myself often because I can't find a solution to what seems should be a simple problem, to the point that it definitely holds me back generally. It's so hard not to be annoyed yourself at those times, but everybody here is right. Can't hold yourself to such standards. We're all in this journey of learning together mate. It seems everybody knows the frustration well, and have developed interesting philosophies as a result. Ive learned a lot from this post so thanks for posting it.

The things you've done already are awesome. I really hope you don't give up and hope that Fuze stays a good thing in your life.

It's something I can't help but take to heart, and this gives me motivation to improve the Help and add more Demo programs to Fuze to make it the best it can be.

Dave, one thing you said rings true big time for me. The thing about our community, I have to say (and this is not flannel or BS) but this community is the best thing I've ever been a part of. Everyone without exception has been very friendly and incredibly helpful. I have never known such a friendly forum to be a part of. (I've used various coding forums before and none were like this, some were terrible, some okay and some had a mixture of nice people but also had a lot of nasty people who couldn't help but stick snide comments in any help or advice they gave you.)

You all make this a wonderful place to be a part of and I thank each and every one of you for that. Thank you all for being so kind and being so patient with me.

Well, hopefully it will be considered at some point. Things like update(), sleep(), etc that halt the interpreter will affect anything using timers unfortunately.

it is probably fair to say any use of time should be based upon an offset anyway. I've always set a variable to time() at the start of my programs (any language, any platform) and then done a tick count based on time() - otime.

at least that way, when it is fixed it won't matter (or indeed any value it started at)

@Martin Editor colors customization is a must for me, or at least having some themes, keep in mind different kinds color blindness and make some themes on purpose

@Nisse5 Thanks. I actually just used pow to compute the kth root as a scaling factor, so pow was all I needed.

Honestly, FUZE4 was just what I needed to get back into programming. I spent the last number of years having not done programming because of life-changing events, so I was a bit rusty in just about anything in code. Easy to pick up again, but I didn't have the motivation. Figured that maybe porting my old PTC project to FUZE4 would help, and now I'm recalling many lessons I've previously learned, as well as coding things that were normally done automatically because the option is there.

So big thanks to the team for giving me this chance.

How about a DOS port? Soundblaster, Gameport, SVGA!

The technique used in that example is to use the 4 first bytes of the text stream as the length of the "true" file. That way, the file can be "truncated".

@Nisse5 Thanks for informing me, so then PTC must have been off all this time. Guess once I move my MML code from PTC to FUZE after I get my player working, I'll have to make some octave adjustments for that.

Oh I see. Okay I’ll look at knocking up a quick command line tool to output the data in hex when I get a moment. Perhaps some kind of RLE compression might help for larger images. Thanks. Will take a look at your Switch code too.
