Do you have a PC interpreter?
-
My wife tends to play some switch as well and in the meantime I was wondering if there is a Fuze Basic version for windows. I was using Google and it got me to a big PDF file of it. But the actual interpreter is behind an email wall.
So before I go and buy something that I maybe don't want, I should ask you guys what you know about it. Would it help me to improve my FUZE skills in general or would it be a downgrade version of what I have on my switch already?
When I have read it's manual I could actually find out that it's darn similar to the way old Gameboy Games like Pokémon are scripted. Just that Roms use hex values. I coded scripts for romhacks with over thousands of lines before I used Fuze, so I think there is a great similarity in how the interpreters work.
I just want to know. Wich language/interpreter would you recommend if I want to do similar things as with Fuze on my Computer? Suggestions?

as far as I know there is a windows version planned but it will be a long long time before it appears.

I mean this one. Is that made by the same company that made FUZE4?
This is the link to the PDF manual of a FUZE Basic interpreter that seems to be a bit older now. Pls don't hurt me for the long link xD

I've heard there is an old and unsupported Windows version that you can download on https://www.fuze.co.uk/download-fuze.html if you create an account on fuze.co.uk.
I've never even tried it, because as I understand, it's old and not on the same level as the newer FUZE4 Nintendo Switch.
They have the following disclaimer on the page after you log in:
WINDOWS VERSION
Please note - we are working on a new version called FUZE4 Windows. The current version has problems on some Windows installations but we do not have a solution for this. In some instances running as Administrator resolves the problem.I must say that I feel like this is not really the place to elaborate too much about other available options to create games on the Windows platform. But it's not hard to find out about them.
edit:
Another disclaimer on the page I referred to:IMPORTANT
This is an old version of FUZE (FUZEBASIC) - It does not represent in any shape or form the new FUZE4 series which has recently launched on Nintendo Switch. FUZE4 is a total rewrite and is quite simply, far better in every way. It will also release on Windows next year.
So that's all not really encouraging to install that on my pc.
