I guess this is one you've seen before @LinkCraft :D Actually, seen several times, as it was part of the Highscore Challenge, and even in one of these reviews that pianofire made a while back.
For a reason! You obviously made a lot of tweaks and stuff to this, because the state the game is in now feels super complete and polished. It is so thoughtfully created, in fact, that the player never feels frustrated by its gameplay (the game does become kinda challenging at some point).
It reminds me of how a good platformer, even though that's a different genre, feels fun to control during the entire playtime. Shining example of how to perfect a simple gameplay concept to the maximum! -
Yay I’m happy you picked my game and yes it is a little different then the version on the showcase but that should be updated soon I’ve talked to Dave about it and I think it will be updated in the next fuze update not 100% sure
I knew I made a good game when I got all that attention. Thanks again for picking my game and I’m excited to see the others I hope you found some real hidden gems.

HBG33MND5C"Super LASER BLAST" by vinicity (Tystnaden)
As announced, this week has the good ones... Like oh my god, this is fun! Legit feels like one of these perhaps a bit too addicitive mobile games you'd play on the bus. If you ask me, the price of the FUZE player is worth it just for this game! With drawing that comparison with mobile games I mean that this appears like something that would be released on a game store by a professional. And not like something made in Fuze by a single just because you wanted to do it.
The fact that the touchscreen is implemented so well makes it even better! As might be obvious by now, the game is a joy to play.
By the way, vinicity is the only Fuze creator that appears not two, but three times on this list - take that as the biggest compliment possible, even more so than with the two entries before! -
I spent a lot of time playing this one
-
I think Super Laser Blast is my favourite Fuze game. As it stands it could legitimately be a standalone game - I would buy it if it were on the App Store.

NX5N7MND5U"fuzeshooter" by waldron
Still going strong... made once again by waldron (for real this time ;D), this is one of FUZE's masterpieces!
Where do I even start? Maybe presentation - every part of this game oozes style: The font, the transitions between sections, the audio, the 'eastereggs' in the background ...
Then the graphical style; on point, a pleasure to look at. Creativity: not going into specifics, but it's here in droves (I don't wanna spoil anything in case you haven't played this yet). Gameplay: satisfying as heck, and difficult as heck to get good scores.
Last but not least: Charm! Mentioned this in the context of another game, but it fits here just as well. It's the combination of everything I mentioned, and even more, that makes the game so charming. Besides, the fact that the player is actively insulted for being bad at the game is just the kind of humor I love. -
@CasualTie5 Man thankyou ! yes this is mine XD enjoyed making this game i burnt myself out towards the end (testing), will definately be a sequel in store just wish i knew then what i know now coding wise probably could of saved myself 1000+ lines of code haha

[not working at the moment]"Missing Mike and the many coincidences" by Jongjungbu
When I think of outstanding FUZE creators, I think of Jongjungbu, I really do. Easily could have picked several games from you alone - the reason I didn't was just that this one is by far my personal favorite.
[status: December 2020 --- Still no trace of Jongjungbu. Not giving up hope. We are collectively enduring the drought as long as necessary. Your return will be legendary!
On a more serious note: Yeah, I mean it is a shame that you're absent at the moment. I do hope, however, that people aren't going to take this as a negative - after all, the reason why the community is so great is the fact that there is no pressure. It better stay that way! Personally, I'm just happy that your games don't seem to be broken due to updates and stuff, and it's just personal reasons.]Going back to the game! With most Fuze games highlighted here in the past weeks, it's about gameplay concepts or innovations. Story games are a rarity, though. I know that some people are hard at work with those, and to make a story game feel complete is obviously a task that takes time!
That really goes to show the accomplishment this game is. 'Missing Mike' has a complete little story with well-written characters. It's even more impressive considering Jongjungbu managed to fit that stuff basically into a bunch of dialogue options, and not much more was needed! The storytelling is perfect, and the point-and-click gameplay is relaxed yet entertaining. I didn't even mention graphics (we kinda need more 3D games with fixed camera, it looks spectacular), flawless presentation, creativity, you get the picture.TL;DR this game is a 10/10, play it.

Another awesome game! Fuze needs more story focused games.
I also hope @Jongjungbu comes back to the community whenever he feels ready. He made some great stuff indeed.

NXK7RMKMRX"Panic Buy" by spt games
Any look back on 2020 would be incomplete without The Pandemic©. I know we all just want to forget that this is a thing (or at least as long as Christmas lasts). But today is the day before the Christmas days, so I'd argue we can take one look back.
As you know, we had the Virus Gamejam around May time, which was an attempt to view the whole situation with some humour. Even in darker times, that should always be something to strive for, in my opinion. And the game that I personally enjoyed the most from that Gamejam, happens to be 'Panic Buy'. What's so funny about this one is just how it shows us that we as humans tend to go crazy quite easily. I wanna stress that I don't mean that in an offensive way (and the creator didn't either)! It's just that there are some hilarious habits in human nature, like, you named it, hoarding toilet paper.
With that being said, let's all just agree to wipe 2020 out of existence, and move on to a hopefully better 2021. Lastly, as mentioned earlier, I hope everyone is able to forget that virus for the next few days. -

Merry Christmas everyone!
Christmas Eve, a special day, is upon us. Time really does fly. No matter if you are celebrating Christmas or not, it's THE time for some positivity!
For that occasion, I wanted to highlight a special game. It is not an actual game, to be completely honest, rather a simulation. Furthermore, 'Game of Life' doesn't even originate in FUZE, instead it's an invention of a guy called John Horton Conway (who sadly passed away this year). So what does this have to do with Christmas?
When religious people think of Christmas, they think of hope, of life. Maybe of endurance of humankind. I feel like everyone would value these things, really, but it's never more apparent than during Christmas time. And for me, Game of Life is a celebration of life, hope, and endurance. Sure, on a structural level, it is merely an algorithm that showcases the emergence of structures from a basic pattern. But what we derive from it is what matters! If you are reading this, consider giving this game a go today.
All you need to do is paint a number of boxes in a grid, then start the simulation. You don't need to understand why some blocks get deleted and others don't. Just take a few minutes to try all kinds of setups, and just watch what happens. You might end up developing a deep fascination for the concept of life if you accept the beauty of these structures that seem to come out of nowhere. For me, 'Game of Life' perfectly represents the Christmas spirit. -

NGFN2MND94"Wormhole" by Xevdev
Merry Christmas!
After going philosphical yesterday, this time we're going back to praising the awesomeness of FUZE creations. I wanted this to be the ultimate conclusion to this Advent Calendar, so how to make the choice for the last game?
It all comes down to my personal favorite Fuze game of the year. Simply put, 'Wormhole' is just that. Now this is a statement!
For me, 'Wow Factor' is something that makes certain experiences to stick out from others. Frankly, the first time I saw this game in a Game Jam stream, it blew my mind. The technical aspect of this game is something otherwise unseen in Fuze. Those who have already played this, you know exactly what I mean.
So just the appearance of this game is extraordinary. But what's incredible is the fact that Xevdev turned a Game Jam demo program into something truly special. With shooting gameplay and the fact that the player needs to dodge these electrical poles (which is incredibly cool in its own right), it is just perfect now. If it doesn't make it into the Showcase Gallery, I don't know what can.
Obviously, everyone has their own preferences in terms of favorite games. But I think we can all appreciate the achievement that this game is.And that's it for my Advent Calendar 2020! It was unbelievably cool to look back on all of these games. Now all that is left to say is: Enjoy the holidays as much as you can, with your family or the people you love!

Good Choice! Well they all were really
-
Absolutely wonderful list! Hopefully this becomes a tradition of some sort.

Thank you so much, @CasualTie5, for putting this advent calendar together. You did a great job, and picked some amazing games. It was a fun look back on the year, and a great reminder to revisit some old favorites (and some new discoveries).
I will miss expectantly logging into the forum every day to see what today’s pick was. I really hope this will become an annual tradition from now on!
Merry Christmas!

I hope to see this come back next year it was fun and shows off the hard work that goes into each Fuze project... It also feels great when you see your game make it into this!
