Spent some of today making an effect so when you start it pushes everything out of the way so you don't start on an asteroid.looking for a sound effect and came across David silvera's gothic theme reminded me of gradius so just had to try it out and i land on an asteroid and bingo all the other stuff id been working on came into effect.
So I'll explain
Hit an asteroid it releases fuel sometimes
Also powers up your shield
To get ammo take out an alien
Modified the propulsive rockets so you can manoeuvre eight ways
Still haven't found the sound effect I was looking for
And still haven't implemented the arrival scene but serendipity gave me the answer I think -

I've shared the lead up to this but it ain't half finished yet but at this stage of it could spin it into- I was thinking of making a 'sinistar' like game . Would love to to know if there are any voice assets like that.
Ie "beware I live" "run weakling"
Cos that would be cool
As for sharing
Nothing pretty to look at as i didnt use sprites

Well that was a slow process I might have submitted twice

And by pirate I meant share freely
Probably should have used sprites as there is some slow down occasionally and I think it might be more so on the big screen. This is because you should see more real estate on the telly .At least I programmed it that way don't really know as misses watches too much tv ;) -
Looks and sounds great! I have no idea what I am doing. We won't publish the download code but you can if you want to.
