Weekly High Score Challenge #27
-
This week we will play an old classic from the very first Game Jam:
Bird Catchers
by @KeliotLink here!
Download code:DFCB2MND5C
You might notice that this is not the original download code. When testing the game last night, I noticed that the collision boxes were off (the 2.15 patched changed the behaviour slightly).
I hope Keliot doesn't mind, but I adjusted the collision boxes and reshared it. So please download the fixed version for the challenge. The challenge will be to get the highest score possible.
The time frame for posting high scores starts now and ends Sunday, March 14, at 9pm CET.
The rules for the challenge can be found in the first challenge here. Good luck, everyone!

My high score is 408.
-
My best is 392 so far.
I thought at first that there was some kind of combo system involved, but it seems like the score for each bird is calculated by its speed (higher for higher scores) and closeness to the surface (closer for higher score)...
-
@vinicity Thanks for choosing my game and even fixing it! Now that you mention it, a combo system would have been so much better. Maybe next time :)
Isn't it the higher the bird the more points it gives? Or at least that was how I wanted it to be, haha -
Oops! No, you are correct! Higher up birds give higher scores.
I misread the code!
-
367 for me! I added the setCompatibility at the top, so that the playing field appeared on my screen. Good job with your game! It is fun and surprising to see how high the fish flies!
