Super Funky Bowling - Wireframe Entry
-
I’m super excited to finally release my submission for the Wireframe Competition! I made this specifically for the “old games made new” category. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s a 3D ball-rolling game inspired by Super Monkey Ball. I’ve included 24 unique levels, each with a few time goals to shoot for.
It’s hard to describe how difficult this was to make (especially since I’ve never touched Fuze before), but I somehow managed to finish this prior to the deadline. There are still a few days left in the contest (as of posting this), so let me know if there’s anything worth improving!

@Scrubz well-done can't wait to play it !
-
@Scrubz Phenomenal job, massive congratulations! I can already tell you this will be one of my favorite Fuze games, easily.
-
Another entry that looks like it was bought straight from the eShop.. I can tell I will love this one!
-
very nice indeed can't wait to try this out :)
-
This game is soo fun. Love the design
-
Just played through the world 1 levels, and this belongs definitely among the best games in Fuze. It's well designed, fun to play and I have found no bugs. Well done!
-
Playing through this now, and it feels just incredible. Love it to bits!
It’s also quite a challenge, and I haven’t been close to getting any of the medals (yet)!
-
Very nice, cool title and ball spawning/respawning effects.
-
I get a "memory allocation failed" error at line 1890 when I try to run this game - looks like I'm the only one!
-
@AndyG1985 hmmm... My best guess is that Fuze is running low on memory. Maybe try restarting Fuze and trying again.
-
Hurrah! That fixed it. I think I've just outed myself as a Fuze addict - I've had it open for probably over a week..
-
I did a last-minute update to change a few things. I fixed a bug that slowly ate up memory, added some comments to make the code slightly more understandable, and added a progress bar to the loading screen.
-
I see the work of a pro-game programmer, a designer and a usability expert 🤩 brilliant.
-
This is amazing. The fact that you made a 3d physics engine with camera rotation from scratch is insane. All the little effects you added make this game come together. Good luck in the competition. P.S. I was able to get gold medals on all of world 1. This is a ton of fun.
-
Is your ball collision done using objectIntersect()? It appears to behaves just like Fuze4 had a physics engine built in! Well done.
Ya, that camera control is top notch! -
@Slydog objectIntersect() only handles cubic hitboxes (hence why it's called a box), so I had to come up with my own equations for spherical collisions. However, I used objectIntersect() as a first check. If the ball's hitbox is intersecting a platform, then there's a chance that the ball is colliding with it and I check the collision for that one platform. Otherwise, I just skip it.

@Ben-2-0 Well done! I’ve completed all the levels now, but some of these medal times are tight! I can’t get any medals on 1-4 but I’ll keep trying.
-
@AndyG1985 There's a shortcut that I showed off in the video that may be of use to you. It's still pretty tight, but maybe that'll help.
@Ben-2-0 Oh wow! I don't think I read your comment all the way through the other day haha. Glad to see people are already getting pretty good at this game! And thanks for the compliments!
-
Ohh, that’s how you do it! I’d been going backwards at the start which seemed to help a little, but I’ve now got it :). Awesome game, super polished, very fun and addictive!
