Progress!! I’m so glad I started with the lookup table system - everything seems to be falling nicely into place :)

Looking more and more like a game :D. I was really worried I wouldn’t be able to work out the monster targeting, so I’m really pleased this hurdle is over!

I now have a demo ready! This lets you play one cycle of farming - fighting - shopping, which constitutes one season. The final game will be 5 years of 4 seasons each, with tax to pay at the end of each year, and the challenge is to not die / end up in debtor’s jail like Dizzy! I think it’s a pretty cool mechanic, and I have ideas for more things to add for future seasons. Like more weapons, fences, cattle, collectibles and buried treasure. Now I’ve laid the groundwork it shouldn’t be hard, and I want to get it as good as I can. Any feedback appreciated!

Wowww, probably one of the best games I have ever played in Fuze. I found the first battle a bit difficult though, it took me 3 tries to defeat the demons. I'm looking forward to buy cows and chickens for my farm! Excelent job!!!

First, I love the title page, really nice!
The game is so cool, I was enjoying myself there, harvesting corn, planting wheat and putting down a path and then

                ..night..

                Arrgghh! haha

Great demo, I can't wait to see this game grow and grow! ;)

Thanks a lot both of you! The main difficulty for me will be adding a save feature. Also I can’t quite see how fences are going to work, though I have some ideas. Apart from that, it should be plain sailing from here :D

i tried the game and it is really good, the night is a bit hard (maybe i'm just bad at the game) but apart from that it's a 10/10 for me.

@andyg1985 for your fences you could use collidesprites(fences[I], monsters [I],false, true)
And for saving I'v just reshared a more visual version of pianofires persistent data using sprites.

Fantastic, thanks both :D. That’s good feedback - I think I’ll reduce the monsters to 5 for year 1, and I also want to make a radar system if I can.

The trouble with fences is I don’t want to cut the player off. I thought about having them push the player down, meaning they can be jumped over from top to bottom - but it’s fiddly. The easier way would be to have them only register monster collisions. I’ll keep playing round and see what works.

I’ll definitely check out what you’ve shared - I really want to work it out if I can, so thanks for that!

I also tried your farm game and it is awesome! Love the intro graphic and the shop!
