Yet another Game Jam entry, and this is far from being the last one. It's truly astonishing what people can accomplish in a matter of days!
No exception here: Its simple visuals are perfect for a game where you can only ever see a fraction of the screen. It features a clever gameplay concept, and the levels are randomly generated, which leads to high replay value. Definitely a case of a cool idea implemented well. -
Great pick! A good reminder that I should play that game again!
-
Thanks for picking my game. I think this was one of my better game jam efforts, maybe a bit on the hard side though.
-
Thanks for picking this one, I need another look at it.

I feel like this game went rather unnoticed, which is a huge shame. That "Shoot the aliens" gameplay is simple yet addictive, and you always feel the pressure of losing your protection barriers.
And I got to add, these pixel graphics and the background look stylized as heck! -
oh! I totally missed this one. Need to check it out
-
I love this Advent Calendar!
-
@CasualTie5 wow thanks for choosing my game and for the great review!

I played Dark Maze when I first saw it in the jam, but have just done so again. Clever idea and super impressive how anyone can code a randomly-generated maze. It seems like there’s only ever one right path to the candle - how is that done?? It’s totally beyond me. Another reason to love Fuze - it’s so interesting to read and learn from the coding.
Alien Defense - my first time playing this one. Perfect music! Definite Super Metroid vibes. And pretty tense gameplay. My top score was 2130.

I remember being blown away by this game during the first ever Game Jam stream. Seriously! Might be silly to think that now after almost a year of Game Jams, but that result achieved in 48 hours was quite impressive to me. And still is, to be honest; it's mainly this voxel/ diorama/ - you know what I mean - look that makes the game memorable. Sure, there might be no time to enjoy the look of it for too long with its whack-a-mole (hence the title, I'd assume) gameplay. But it does work with the diorama structure in my opinion, and it's genuinely fun to play.
Also, more 3D games are always welcome, the possibilities of that are endless in FUZE. -

This game originated from... - You know how it goes. But enough of that, this is a cool little game on its own right! And what this game excels at are these controls...They are so satisfying, it's a joy to play, not exaggerating. Nailed it with the acceleration & rumble! Going in the water, building momentum for the next jump, time and time again; good stuff.

I know it's technically not a new game, as it is, for the most part, a remake of Space Invaders.
Yet I had to include it here - not only is it really polished and just a fun time; but beyond that, this project is directly linked to the SwitchedOn channel. (Hard recommendation for that btw, he features a lot of Switch related stuff, particularly lesser-known games).
What's cool about SwitchedOn is that he had a series of so-called "FUZE Friday" videos, with the earlier portion of these being essentially a devlog dealing with exactly this game. I'd personally love to see new Fuze videos on the channel, particularly with the new project he had started in the beginning of the year! -
Speaking of SwitchedOn, I feel like there's plenty of potential for FUZE game development videos. So if anyone feels like making YouTube videos with FUZE games - just go for it!

NXDD1RND9R"Paint by Number" by Tod Hessong
Might be an unexpected pick for some - given that this is not a game in the traditional sense. It's still more than a tech demo in my opinion, as it shows the potential for non-video game entertainment on FUZE.
And that it does in an excellent way, featuring several neat pixel drawings that the player fills with colors indicated by numbers. (It's called Paint by Number, what did you expect?)
Cool concept, and while rather short, it provides a fun time figuring out the images hidden behind the numbers! -

A really cool one! Booting up the game for the first time, what surprised me was the visual style - mainly the whole concept of showing the actual game in a retro TV drawn on screen. Graphics of the actual game are nice to look at as well!
In addition to that, this has a unique gameplay concept (partially due to its nature as a Gamejam entry). I personally suck at it, thus haven't even seen the end of it, but that doesn't mean its unfair or anything like that, it is fun to play. -
@CasualTie5 Thanks man ! i'v been meaning to upload a playthrough so people get to see the end XD eventually i will make a non-auto runner version with scaling difficulty. Thanks again.

This looks surpisingly polished/ professional (not that I should be surprised given what's made on FUZE all the time). The logo alone looks artistic, really setting a mood, and the game itself is even better.
It feels like a lot of care went into the shoot 'em up gameplay, it has the right balance to be challenging but always pushing forward. Use of rumble is a nice addition too. Overall just a good time! -
@CasualTie5 Oh wow! I really appreciate this! I'm glad you enjoyed it, hopefully at some point I'll be able to do some more with it!

I feel like this one sticks out a bit, maybe even flying under the radar. To be honest, I have never come across this kind of game concept before. Might be just that I'm not an expert with retro games (maybe Boulder Dash was a big deal, but I mean I didn't even know it was a thing until a while ago). Sorry.
What I'm trying to say is this is an innovative concept; did very much enjoy it! Just going from the first level, it may seem simple, but it proves to be designed in quite a clever way later. -
I love this game. It didn't get the attention it deserved. You can even design your own levels.
