Enter the FUZE Wireframe Magazine Competition!
-
Hi folks! Hope everybody is doing great. We have some exciting news to announce!
The brilliant people over at Wireframe magazine are hosting FUZE's first Retro Coding competition!
Quick update from Jonboy! [Friday 19th March]
The panel of judges is now complete - and it just doesn't get better than this little lot!
Also we have extended the submission date until Friday the 30th of April 2021.
Full details on competition rules and how to enter can be found on Fuze's homepage: https://www.fuze.co.uk/
Any questions at all please feel free ask down below!
Of course, it wouldn't be a competition without some lovely prizes to win :) Fuze has teamed up with Evercade, Fusion Retro Books and My Retro Computer to get some amazing goodies!
It is likely there will be a few high profile judges taking a look! This is your chance to impress :) Do your best, and make your entry as polished as you are capable of!
We're super excited to see if we can get lots of entries, so do spread the word!
---- F.A.Q ----
1. Can I submit a game or project which I've already completed?
It's fine to submit a game/project which you have already made, provided it fits with the theme and at least one of the categories for the competition found on the Fuze homepage.
However, we will not accept submissions which currently exist in an unaltered form in the Showcase Gallery.
If you did want to submit a game which you already have in the Showcase Gallery, some alteration, improvement etc to the project would have to be made. Think of that like a "project remix" if you will. That would be perfectly acceptable.
2. Do I have to be a new FUZE user to enter?
No, any FUZE user can enter!
-
The rules don't seem to say if the entries must be "new"? Just out of curiosity, could you potentially enter with an already completed project?
Not saying that I want to, just thought it was a curious omission in the rules...

@vinicity Great question Vin. I'll add some information to the post itself since it's important.
-
@Martin Good questions, I've amended the post with that info!
-
Thanks Dave - this is super exciting and can't wait to see what people do with this given the extra time over what you have for say, a game jam weekend. Actually quite jealous given the really nice prizes involved but happy to take a back seat and watch what happens.
-
'Users must be new to Fuze'. that's us out then unless Vin wears a fake tache and beard :D
-
Read it again Steve - that was me asking the question if users need to be new. The original post has now been updated to clarify that they do not need to be new Fuze users.
-
We would never exclude our lovely and super cool users! Steve, this is for everyone and I, well Ok, Dave, Kat Martin, Mike, Colin and I, decide who gets what in the way of prizes. And.. we have even more to go around if we need them so even you Steve, even you, might just win something :-)

Thank you and sorry, guess my reading comprehension must be just terrible today.
-
@Dave How do we need to submit entries ? Do they need to contain a certain information when submitting / sharing. Like how else would you guys know the difference between a competetion entry and a normal share not for the competetion
-
Oohh nice, is there a required length or just completable.
-
so its just a game? or is there some kind of a theme involved?

It does say “It can be any genre or style you like, as long as it’s retro-themed, [...]”
So, I guess that’s the theme!
-
This is awesome, very exciting!
-
Count me in! The game jams are a little too intense for me, with their tight timelines-- having an odd-month is much more up my alley!

That's both amazing and terrifying. it's like getting god to judge one of your creations.
