Pre Release Sale?

Hey all, I know that Nintendo is going to release Game builder garage in a day or so.
It was this hype that led me to finding your product, as I want to get back into programing and thought this would be a fun way.
I was thinking you could ride the hype of Nintendo's app for the switch but be HALF PRICE.
Just a thought to all the admins. I think you have a terrific product and want you to be able to bank on it as much as you can and if you get into the great deals category on the switch it may be helpful.
Hope you can get some people into the real meat and potatoes programing that fuze offers :)

It’s already had a permanent major price drop since launch, but yeah, appearing on the ’offers’ list is apparently a great way to increase sales. It’s always tricky though because you don’t want to price it so low that you affect the ’percieved value’ of the product, and you don’t want to drop it so often that people won’t buy ir at other times because they’re waiting for a sale. Also if I see a game on sale and it’s like 8% off, I’m like ’what? Get out of here, man!’. And do you want to be competing with nintendo right now or is it best to wait a little bit and maybe do it a little later for the ’do you like game builder garage? Well check out this other stuff!’ articles to appear? Will they appear and do they make a difference? Who knows?

@toxibunny I totally agree. Precieved value was one of my big concerns. That is why I would (personally) only lower it during the release window of Nintendos offering.
From what I have seen FUZE still has a lot more power and customization than Nintendos game designer.

I remember saying this a long time ago, but it's still true: I wish Nintendo would have just bought Fuze itself, and bundled it with the firmware. They could have put their own branding into the menus, polished some things up, and marketed it right on the Switch box: buy a Switch, make your own games!
Alas, they went and did their own thing. On top of it, I've never been a big fan of these "visual"-style environments, I've seen a million of them come and go in the enterprise world, always with the promise that "now managers and analysts can write their own applications!", and they go nowhere-- sort of like VR, in a way: comes and goes in waves, as predictable as the tides.
Sony poured untold millions into "Dreams", "visual environment extraordinaire", and had every single game publication on the planet using the most hyperbolic language, like declaring it to be "the future of game development"... well, recently I've heard that the Media Molecule people view it as a giant ball and chain around their ankles; it's yet another visual tool that's not selling, but Sony wants to keep supporting it.
Anyway, me and everyone else on this forum will keep promoting Fuze as best as we can. I'm even giving a presentation on it to my development team at work in a few weeks, maybe I can sell some copies to co-workers :)

Fuze has always positioned itself as the missing link between visual coding languages like Scratch and full on programming languages like Python. I think that the same applies here. Hopefully people will want to move on from the limitations of something like garage to something that gives them more control

@pianofire That's exactly what happened with my kids: they went from Scratch, to real coding like Fuze and Lua (in Roblox Studio). And I think maybe what you're saying, is that Fuze could position itself to be a graduation step from Nintendo's deal?

This is really encouraging to hear. I started programming at the age of 4 on my ti-99 and was learning basic and C plus. And wrote a couple of programs in Lotus 1-2-3 for a Furniture Company back in the 90s and early 2000s.But in College there were so many different programming languages and I didn't know which one would survive the early 2000s so I focused more on Hardware networking and security. And after getting my certifications owned my own business for 20 years or so until I had a medical accident which left me essentially bedridden, functionally blind, and in constant pain.

And as you can see from the video above I have been 3 years without any income or a job. Luckily I've been getting my eyesight back thanks to some drugs that I've been taking, and I'm looking to future-proof and sickness proof my job situation. So I'm getting back into programming.
However I really don't know where to start and my abilities are still very limited due to my health. But when I saw fuse I was encouraged as it's something I already engage with, my Nintendo switch. And it seemed to have a genuine base in programming languages with a lot of modern additions and concepts that I had never experienced or worked with before.
However I had seen and heard about these pictorial programming languages and truly wondered if they would be the future of programming. But felt like you did about them as I've never seen them stick around.
So it's good to hear that reiterated by somebody who actually knows what's going on in the programming world. And this encourages me even more in my purchase of fuse and hopefully learning more about how to program and sickness proofing my income for the future

I guess I see some of the appeal of the visual programming languages. Maybe for learning programming Concepts which is why it appealed to me. But personally I only like to learn stuff that's applicable and actually has some functionality in the real world and in the business sense. Which is why fuse look like the answer to me to actually teach me the things that I hadn't learned since the early 90s and hopefully apply them in the future with some sort of real employment or skill set.

@foggmr What a heart breaking video, I feel so bad for you-- it really shows how precious and fragile life is, you have tremendous strength to be making it through this. Please don't feel the need to answer this if it causes you pain, but what kind of procedure was the dentist trying to do, a root canal or something along those lines? Now I don't know if I want to go to the dentist again.
I can see why Fuze is great for you, since you can lay in bed, keep the screen relatively close to your face, and work that way.

The truth is there's way more to the story than just the dentist. The dentist office was where the stress occurred at stopped my life. But the six years previous I was in a job that was amazingly abusive and divisive. Where I was accused of harassment multiple times and apart from my recordings of the situations proving that I didn't, i would have probably lost my job (and every one to follow lol).
This went on for years and HR did nothing to try to resolve the situation or keep me safe from it. and after six years of that I had gotten so worn out from stress and fear, and delf protection when I was in a medical situation my body finally shut down.
Thank you again for your compassion for Desiring to know my story. We're still very much in the middle of it and the sad part is I'm so physically weak I couldn't move out of my house if I needed to. I'm doing everything I can in my energy to make myself valuable and to do everything I can to save not only my house but my life.

There is definitely a spectrum on the creative and programming types. Some of the most compassionate understanding. Honest and loyal people I've ever met and some of the most egocentric and conniving I've ever met LOL. I'm glad I found a great Community like this to be a part of and learn in..

I forgot there is another great benefit of the Nintendo switch l. Namely, I can use the remote joycons separately one in each hand. Because I'm unable to bring my hands together for long periods of time. Making it the only game system I can use :-)
So I'm so glad I found fuse on it. And I'm so glad fuse was made for such a creative and forward-thinking system.

I am so glad I stumbled on to fuse. While looking at Nintendo's new game builder app. I can't imagine more communicative and supportive Community for me too begin learning programming again.
