Introducing the FUZE Catalogue beta

@mikedx thanks that has fixed it.
My son has made a few things that he'd like to claim, but he doesn't have a Fuze Arena account, is there any way for him to claim them without creating an account? That is not possible, sorry.
-
WHAT WHAT WHAT?
this is incredible.. to have a single place where everyone's creations are showcased - seriously awesome! sounds silly but it feels like an E3 moment to me haha (now I want to see a Fuze News video with Dave being enthusiastic about this for 30 minutes straight :D)
-
@MikeDX how reguarly is this updated ? once a week, once a day, realtime ?
Also the download numbers, are these only counted when people download by code or also from showcase gallery and such ?
-
…and how about the Fuze Player? Are those downloads accounted for?
-
Great idea! I have 2 different nintendo profiles I’m using, so I guess I’ll have to do some transferring and resharing, but am definitely impressed with this new feature. What a nice surprise! Time to have a browse through and see what’s out there :)
Just a thought though - do we really need a list ranked by downloads? It doesn’t seem like a healthy metagame to me. Or maybe I’m overthinking things. I dunno.
-
If you push out an update for a game does the download count reset? How about if you re-share a game with the same name but with a different download ID?
-
@stevezx81 Haha, just checked my download stats and ouch! Although maybe a typing game wasn't the most appealing thing to make...
I prefer seeing the stats though, and as a creator of niche games don't mind (and am pretty used to) seeing low numbers.
I was wondering though, is there any particular sort order? And if not will there be? Would be cool to be able to see what the most downloaded games are, especially to see what people are playing
-
Did you notice the link to the Showcase Gallery? I don't think that has been there before?

https://fuzearena.com/catalogs?sort=downloads&direction=desc&limit=10
This list will of course always be skewed towards games released a long time ago, since they had had the time to accumulate downloads. Also, I'm pretty sure the Showcase Gallery/Fuze Player downloads are not taken into account, which also makes it a bit misleading.
-
@MikeDX very nice and valuable feature this catalogue, thanks! Maybe it would be helpful to mark a project as the original. Easiest way would be to achieve this by allowing the user that claimed the first uploaded version (oldest creation date) of the game with a certain name to mark it. Also others can upload games with the same name or copies, they cannot name it the same way and tag it as the original. The most value of doing this would be, if we could have a filter afterwards to search only for originals and project with unique names.
-
@spikey Great ideas but sadly this is not possible. There is no real "proof" as it were of the original program. In a future fuze update we may be able to resolve this.

No it does not.

If you did this, it registers as a new game. Games are unique only by their share key.

No these are not included.

The catalogue should be up to date normally within a few minutes at the maximum but in normal operation should be instant.

Showcase gallery projects are not included in these stats.
Thank you everybody for your feedback. I will continue to make changes and improvements. Some fun and useful tools are coming, stay tuned!

Could they be in the future? It would be cool to see the actual numbers...

Some more feedback (much of which I am sure is on your to-do list already):
- It would be nice with shortcuts to the Catalogue and Showcase from the Forum as well.
- The "Image not found" message should perhaps be replaced with a "No thumbnail" message, that makes it read less like an error message.
- The "Top ten" is not actually ten and should be renamed.
- It would be nice to have the "Top ten" and "Random" buttons also in the main list view.
- "First" and "Last" buttons would be nice.
- When looking at ones own games, there is no list of all games made by me. That would be useful.
- Maybe have the username clickable, to link to the Forum profile page?
- It would be nice to have the screenshot clickable and opening with higher resolution.
- A "Back to list" button would be useful.
- The sort by Author does not seem to work at all.

You can see your own games here: https://fuzearena.com/users/me
There doesn't appear to be a link to that page though. -

That is unlikely as it is company data

For me, that link goes to a blank page.
-
Works okay for me.
-
@toxibunny Have you claimed your user name?
-
@vinicity For me it does work in Chrome, but I tried it in Firefox now, and there I get a blank page.
It appears to be a bug in the styling
