I think I might have claimed some other person's game by accident. How do I undo?
That's not possible
-
there was this button that said claim project and I pressed it didn't know what happened after that

Pressing the button only starts the claiming process. You have to upload a project with a unique name to claim the projects.
-
A couple days ago I attempted to claim my project, Monster Invaders:
https://fuzearena.com/catalogs/view/1284I clicked the 'Claim Project' link, but nothing seemed to happen. I think the page cleared or refreshed.
Since then, I no longer see the 'Claim Project' link, but my project isn't claimed.
Is my claim process stuck in some unfinished state? Is this what happened to you, @monkeee?
-
@slydog I think it tells you to create and share a program with a specific name to verify it is you. I am not sure how you find out what this should be if you missed it but I will try to find out
-
@slydog same happened to me but this link worked for me:

this is interesting... I wonder how many people are in this mid-process without creating the named project to verify.
both @monkeee and @Slydog do not have anything linked.
also @demihon @Ben-2-0 @Kat @Dinocoder @JMM161437 @LucasJG25 @Spacemario @SteveZX81 @CasualTie5 @Retrocade_media seem to have been allocated an unique id, but not yet shared the file.
If anyone on that list can tell me what stage they got to that would be useful but I understand if you prefer not to or for whatever reason do not wish to.
-
I've not started anything that I know of, I just looked through the list a couple of times, that's all.
-
@stevezx81 So you never clicked the claim projects button?
-
So I hit claim project button and hit back on accident and now it dont show up on my project
-
@jmm161437 Yes you need to create and share a project with a specific name for some reason people seem to be missing this. We are looking into it now
-
@pianofire well i saw the name and hit back on my phone so the claim project button dont appear now and i cant get back to the name...
-
@jmm161437 Yes that is the problem. It seems to have happened to quite a few people. We will find a way to tell you what it needs to be again
-
thanks you @pianofire :)
-
When I first tried to claim mine the file name was missing. @MikeDX sorted this for me. I kept the page open as one of the many tabs in my browser. Anyway once it had been fixed I refreshed the page and the file name appeared. I believe this was the link suggested by @waldron https://fuzearena.com/users/me so I'd suggest trying that link while logged in.
-
Might be worth using Chrome for this, since Firefox refuses to show some of the pages correctly…
-
@mikedx Sorry, I've been sitting on this, just haven't done it yet. Let me give it a go.
EDIT: Where is the claim link supposed to be on the page? I'm just clicking through games, including my own, and I don't see it (I'm either blind like usual, or it's really not there). I don't see it in the DOM via the developer tools. I do see the "Previous", "Random", etc. set of buttons. I'm in Firefox 89.0.1, on Manjaro Linux.
-
the problem is anyone can probably click the claim button even for projects they did not make...
Whats to stop a person doing the following:
- clicking claim buttons on random projects ? does the claim button for that project still appear for another person (the real author) or does it stay in such limbo state without claim button for everyone
- whats to stop someone from clainming a project they did not create preventing the original author to claim it
if you clicked claim already somewhere on your projects use the link thats has been suggested twice already, i had to do this as well as i did not see the claim button anymore but saw the link in my browser history and then it just showed the project again i had to upload
if point 1 prevents other people / real authors from claiming that project by not showing a claim button anymore ... this is a problem
point 2 is also a problem although easily fixed by mods if reported and people doing this will most probablly get banned i guess -

Unless you have claimed a project, you will set that notice on every unclaimed project until you start the process

Nothing. Once you upload your project the system does some magic to grant you ownership of the correct projects.

Yes i understand i would start the claim process until i have claimed the project (well user actually). But given i did not see a claim button anymore on my own project when having pressed the button once and i had to use the link in my history which got mentioned here (but is not accessible using a normal link anywhere). It made me wonder if other people than me would have clicked the claim button before me if i would still see a claim button as well until i or someone else actually completes the claim process for said user. If one person presses the claim button and the claim button would dissappear for all other users it could be a problem (if someone clicked claim buttons on not their own projects and never completes the claims processes) and that's still not clear to me. Unless you actually ment initially that all users can see and press the claim button until someone actually completes that claim proccess for that same user?
