SHARING
Sharing is a large subject deserving of it's own topic. Just the basics will be covered here - there will be a more complete guide published in due course
Can we share our programs / games with others?
Sure. There are two types of sharing. 'Friends' sharing that has been in the product since release and the newer 'Community Sharing'.With Friend sharing you can share your games within Fuze 4 on the Switch by highlighting what you want to share under the "Programs" section and pressing X. This will bring up a menu where you can select to Share your program. This version of sharing is visible only to your Nintendo friends that also own Fuze4 on the Switch.
There is now a new kind of sharing called community sharing. You first need to share your program using friend sharing. It doesn't matter if you have any friends or not. Once that is done go to the Friends section, hit R to go to your shared programs, select the program and hit A. This will bring up a list of options, the last of which is 'Submit'. This will assign a 10 digit code to your program and submit it for community sharing.
Note: A network connection is required for both of these sharing optionsI have submitted my program but users get a "Program Not Found" message when they try to download it. What's wrong?
In all likelihood, your program has not been approved yet, but we'll come back to that. First double check the users are using the correct code. Note that if you delete your shared program and re-submit, it will receive a new code so you will need to update users. So, about the program not being approved yet. We are not able to go into detail about the process but since Fuze4 Nintendo Switch is software aimed at people of all ages every program must be manually checked for suitability including, but not limited to profanity and copyright. Once submitted your program will go to 'Pending' and then eventually 'Approved' or 'Rejected'
My program was shared but now it's gone. Why?
Just as we have to approve every sharing request, we also have to act upon any request to remove shared content. We reserve the right to do this at any time for any reason and without notification. Obviously we won't do this just for fun. Reasons might include us receiving a notice against copyright infringment, or perhaps we missed something in the initial check. Can I sell my game on the Nintendo eShop?
No, this is not possibleCan users that I share my programs with modify my work
Yes. Fuze 4 is intended to promote a vibrant community of users who enjoy creating for the love of creating and want others to be able to see not just what you have created but also how you did it so ultimately we all get to spread the knowledge and learn from each other. If you are old enough, think of it like the early days of home computing where you would proudly submit your listing to a magazine in the hope of having your listing published, just without the print errors and typo's! If you are fortunate enough to be too young to remember that then you'll just have to trust us that things really did used to work like that before the internet etc.
If I change my mind can I remove my share
Yes. Go to Friends, click the R shoulder button or R on a USB keyboard, select the program that you no longer wish to share and press A. Now you can choose to "Unshare" your program. Please note however that if your friends have already downloaded your program to their Switch this will not magically remove their downloaded copy.If I have updated my program do I have to do anything?
Yes. In order to put you in control, you need to manually re-share your program. This is a simple case of repeating what you did (above) to share it in the first place and we will take care of the rest. Note: A network connection is required for this operationCan anyone else see the content of my programs?
If you share one of your creations with your friends then yes, they can indeed see the content. For full transparancy, due to the approval process, any content submitted for community sharing can and will be reviewed by any or all members of Fuze Staff. This remains true even if the share is rejected. We do not involve 3rd parties in this process. Any member of staff directly involved in administering servers has greater access.Of course once your program has been approved for community sharing anyone in the world with the sharing code and a copy of Fuze4 Nintendo Switch can then see your content.
[NEW] I have a Switch friend that never shows up in Fuze. Why?
If you spot that one of your Switch friends never shows up in Fuze please check your user settings. In particular the setting for who can see when you are online and when you are not. Your friends will only appear if they can also see your online status. This means that if you have online status set to "Nobody" then nobody will appear in Fuze. "Best Friends" will mean only best friends appear and so on. -
HELP
I'm stuck, what do I do!?
Well, you are already here, so you have already made your first step. Feel free to post and see if anyone can help you out.Do I need to create an account just to ask for help?
Yes, but if you prefer, you have these other simple options:- For the forum, first of all, please have a look around. Your question may have been asked before. Obviously it is easier to use the search function and for this you will need to create an account.
- You did try the built-in help, yes? If not, press F1 on a USB keyboard or click the HELP key on the on-screen keyboard (click L3 to show / hide this keyboard)
- If you prefer an online version please see the help link at the main Fuze Arena website or the little lifeguard ring symbol above. This online help will sometimes be slightly more up to date and ahead of the in-app version.
Can I have an offline version to view on my <insert favourite device here>?
We have heard the requests for this and we do listen. We are working on a solution and it might even be out before you read this. The coding elves are working away as fast as possible behind the scenes to make your wishes come true.Do you have any tutorials?
Absolutely, there are tutorials in the product help, both in-app and online (see above) and also there is a dedicated tutorial section here in the Community. Currently the tutorial posts link to our YouTube channel but just in case that should change in the future please use or bookmark the following link: Tutorials -
SOMETHING GONE WRONG?
I think I've found a bug, what do I do?
OK, hands-up, we admit it, there are more bugs than we would like right now. One is one too many, right? Remember those coding elves? We've had a word and they really are truly sorry for their grave error, they are working day and night to set things straight. In the meantime, please, please, first of all check in the Bug Reporting section of the forum to see if your issue has already been reported. If so, there is often a workaround. If not, please create a new post to let us know. -
FORUM
Can I delete my user
No. But we can. In the first instance please send a chat message to one of the users marked with the "Fuze Team" tag. Obviously we'd be keen to know why, whether there is something that has gone wrong that perhaps we can correct, but ultimately if you really want to leave then we can do this for you. All your post content will remain but will be given the username "A Former User" this is so that we are not left with half a conversation and forum topics that make no sense. Can I rename my user?
No, but again, we can do this for you. Please note that as per when you initially joined user names must be 6 characters or more and must be unique. We cannot circumvent this even if we want to.But I see users with names less than 6 characters, what gives?
The keen eyed amongst you might indeed spot just a few forum members with names less than 6 characters. Dave, Kat and Luke are members of the team that bring you Fuze. How mean would we be if we did not allow them this small privilege? They were of course also among the very first few forum users to be created while the site was in early access testing and before we had decided on how we were going to do things. The rest of us happened to choose or have names that fit anyway. Some posts have code in nice coloured blocks - how do I do that?
You need to surround your code text with three 'back-ticks' or `
You can do this manually, or by clicking the little icon from the full reply editor that looks like this "</>"Can I link to external sites
Fuze Arena is primarily a site for Fuze, therefore, due to the admin overhead involved in checking the content within external sites and ensuring content is suitable for all ages we have taken the decision at this time to not approve posts that link to external sites. Please note, if you do this then your post will be removed without notice. The two exceptions to this rule are Twitter and YouTube because you can of course link to Fuze content on each of these. Please help us by restricting your links to Fuze content. Thank you for your understanding on this matter.
