Some 2D graphics assets are completely useless for their intended purposes: animated tile maps with disconnected frames, incorrect grid sizes for certain tiles, sheets that are too big, incomplete animations, etc.
It'd be nice if we could import 2D assets to the image editor so we can manually modify these files to our need, rather than having to wait for an update to the assets that may not even fix the underlying issue.

I agree this would be good. The Magicland Dizzy characters file is still one big sheet and can’t be used for sprites. Because I can’t change the order of the Dizzy sprites I’m not able to set a “swimming” animation, at least not without some creative coding, so I’d have to draw this myself - but then without being able to pick the colours, the colouring would be slightly off, so I’d need to redraw the whole thing. There are other niggles too.

I always assumed the main reason for not allowing this is that it’s not fair to the creators. If I’d spent a lot of time making art I was proud of, I’d be happy for others to use it, but not happy to see others modifying it slightly and calling it their own. So even though it would be nice, I don’t really mind. (Please fix Magicland Dizzy, though!)

I wish we could! that would be awesome. Many times I've found assets that would fit a game but they don't have all the animation frames I would need so have to pass on them or I find a good one and the frames are disconnected so don't animate (which is weird).

That would be great, however I don't think it's something we'll get. Some creators might not want us to tinker with their art, even just recolouring something. So nice but I'd say very very unlikely. (but I'd be happy to be wrong!)

Counterpoint, artists would want people to use their graphics, but people don't because the implementation doesn't allow for them.

I can't imagine the amount of work it would take to check the copyright of images if people could freely out source their own into fuze, but I imagine it would be alot of work.

Maybe we could suggest asset sets for upcoming updates that they could pick from like user suggestions?.

Also thinking it would be cool to pool together some user images to throw in a asset set.

              Just some thoughts....

Are the rights to an image really such a big issue? I mean, games that are made in FUZE are not stand-alone ones, so you can't sell them and make money on someone else's property...

@alexander-s I guess it's down to the individual artists. I doubt they all have the same opinion
