Can we get a traditional drawing app

I hereby second this notion and add a request for usb mouse support to add to this thanks!
Does any existing Switch software support mice? Could be the operating system doesn't have a mouse concept. Like a lot of touchscreen-based devices. Sure would be great to use a mouse w/FUZE.
Another thought: we could paint with our fingers on the touchscreen.

The Switch does support USB mice, but in a limited fashion like the other consoles. Fortnite is the only game I can recall that can use them. I just think most developers wouldn't include support if they aren't using a keyboard alongside it.
For FUZE, we have a good reason to use mice, as we have a very good reason to use keyboards.

EXACTLY.. this is why mouse support would BE appropriate in this case.. and thank you for clarifying that there does in fact exist mouse support already with that example! So now we know you can... why not patch this into Fuze4 and allow us a far faster way to get through coding? Please.. I am totally adding please to that .! :)

..and a 3D mapping tool as well as some way to create our own 3D models. Something with tools similar to Google Sketchup would be awesome.
I'm new but from what I've seen so far the map maker we currently have can only be used for 2D tilesets/maps? To build/place any of the Included 3D models we have to do it through code?

Just a quickie - in the next patch we expect the following:
The editor will have far better colour picking and modifying, copy & paste along with scale and rotate transformations.
Following this it would be great to see layers and a few effects added. We also need copy & paste to work between images too!
Regarding mouse support - does Fortnite use a mouse on the Switch - that's news to me and if it does we'll investigate.
Someone mentioned a 3D model editor above. Work has started on a 3D level environment editor but this is going to be a few months away.
For 3D models, I think we're better finding a way to import them rather than editing on the device - there are plenty of awesome free editors out there.

@Jonboy
Omg yes! If we could find a way to import 3D models I would die of happiness. Being able to use Blender or Sketchup would be amazing. -
Let's face it, if we can find a way to import 3D models then we can find a way to import other stuff too. Right now, there is no way of "direct-to-switch" import from other platforms but we're always going to be on the lookout.

One other thing that could make it much easier to use would be some way to bring up another image file to use as a reference.
For example: I draw a background in pixel art and want the sprites to be the same scale, I would bring up the background and draw my sprites while comparing them to it.
Obviously now there are ways around it, you can count pixels and keep a log of everything but that's tedious and you never really know how it'll look until you put them together in a program, possibly after working on it for hours only to scrap it because the scale looks off.
Layers would be cool but "copy and paste" would be a revelation. Maybe a dithering brush could be useful for pixel art. What I would really love would be a way to temporarily disable the Joycon joystick when doing delicate details (to stop it drifting all over the place).

couldn't we upload on here then the fuze dev team can upload them if approved same for music art assets?
-
please bear in mind there aren't enough hours in the day for the guys in the office as it is - when they're in the office and not out doing coding workshops of course
-
@Martin thought that might be the case
-
@Martin If you add functions for creating and saving assets from within a fuze program then we could write and share our own image editors;)
-
Trust me, we're already aware of these things! Wait until the next update comes out and I think people will already be a lot happier. Maybe not specifically on this topic but things will be getting easier.
-
Is there a set date that the update is coming out or is it undecided
-
Not yet. Even when we are done with it we won't know because it has to go through various processes outside of our control that we're unable to go into detail about.
-
@Jonboy yes please to all of this
-
@Jonboy although would that include mobile restricted users? I dont have a pc and I dont know if there's anything for my s10 for creating models...
-
So now I have a question for you folks. Is saving arrays as files or whatever so you can have save data for games a thing? I can't port a 3ds game I made on smilebasic because there's no way to save data that I know of. Just curious If that's in your head.

Lookup "File Handling" in the help. It's rudimentry at the moment but it is there for the purpose of game saves
