Haven’t been able to download and install yet (away on holiday :-( ), but is there anyway to share code with others and the fork their code to improve or create slightly modified versions ?

It would be great if some of the games we’re starting to see, if the authors see fit to make the code available, we get the community evolving and iteratively improving different variants...

Sure, that's pretty much how it works. When you share you projects with your friends through switch you get the whole lot, code and all. While you don't technically have a fork process, what you have is a fork anyway really because it's a copy of their code that you can do what you wish with

I saw a copy button also, so spinning off on this idea looks like we could do version control and make backup copies of each version of one’s projects or others. Hmm, I should try that myself just and see. A backup copy isn’t a bad idea.

I do that now and I know @MikeDX does too. If you are going to make a lot of changes in your program, copy it to a program name with a different version number. Likelihood is that once you're happy with your big changes you can delete the old version but of course you don't have to.

The problem is remembering to do it BEFORE you make a tonne of changes, not getting half way through and wishing you had :D
