Would be ideal but I don't see it happening, Nintendo are very paranoid when it comes to accessing things like the sdcard or giving possible access to hackers (although it was hacked many months ago anyway)

Usual problems around copyright/suitability of assets. We would have to approve everything and we simply don't have the resources at the moment.

Here's my question. If we can make the assets in Fuze, what's the issue with importing them copyright wise? Because you already have to approve projects that get submitted, couldn't the approval process on assets happen then? (I know this isn't your guys fault, and if it was up to you there would be an importer, but maybe that's something you could bring up to Nintendo?)

Actually that is a very good point indeed, yes that would put a massive workload on you.

SteveZX81 is most on point there. The main issue is down to potentially exposing vulnerabilities. Certainly anything via USB / Bluetooth / SD Card is very unlikely. We did figure one other, very creative, method that was rejected.

However we do have other ideas and will find a way i'm sure.

@Jonboy I am curious to hear about the very creative method now, but any way to get external stuff into the switch opens the door for possible arbitrary code execution exploits

                  Could you...
                  make it on a computer
download to a website (like Fuze arena)
And then upload it to your switch (like a game code)

i have to say if only the switch had a camera we could have used qr codes. but what about recording from a mic attaced to the headphone jack of the switch?

But I believe that can only read things like infrared light as well as depth and heat. Doubting it could read a 2-tone image like a QR code.

Now, if I understand correctly, Animal Crossing New Horizons can allow the use of your smartphone to scan QR codes for custom designs, which you can then retrieve on your Switch when connected to the internet. However, I think that is quite limited, and to use QR codes for a large amount of data is going to be a real problem. It already was when I made my MM2 PTR game with Petit Computer.

@Discostew Right, but a QR code could be used as a link, and then that link would download the image data.

True as well, but that begins to cross some very risky territory for a closed system.
