Another Dizzy!

That is looking really neat!
-
love me some dizzy

Well I’ve made great strides with this and finally have a working game! Albeit with two screens and only a few puzzles. I can’t tell you how happy (and surprised) I am that I’ve been able to work all of this out. The inventory system in particular was an absolute mind-melter!
The collision detection isn’t 100%, but other than that I do believe I have a fully-functioning engine, ready for full game :D. I really hope it can pass share approval, as I added the same copyright notice as the fan-made games on the official Dizzy site. If it doesn’t, then maybe it would help if I switch to the assets provided?

@AndyG1985 absolutely phenomenal mate
-
Wow! Amazing progress!
-
Hurrah, it’s live! The download code is NNX1UBNDXH. And many thanks for the feedback so far :)
-
Brilliant!! looks sooooooooo good.
-
That looks great!
-
I’ve been soldiering on with this, improving the collision detection, and we also now have underwater physics!
(The Mandela effect is very weird because I looked into it, and of all the official Dizzy adventures, the only one that actually had this was Spellbound Dizzy, one of my least-favourite. Still, I think it’s a nifty feature and it should allow for more creative platforming.)
Not much left to do until I can start coding the game proper... eggsciting times!

I wonder what the Oliver Twins would think of this incredible achievement... It totally captures the original. I can't wait for the finished article to play through.
-
@AndyG1985 can't wait to play this, haven't played a dizzy game since my spectrum died many moons ago. looks like the oliver twins made it them selves!
-
Thanks both, that’s the best feedback I could hope for! Meeting the Twins is still on my bucket list, I keep missing their events sadly

This post is deleted! -
@Jonboy
I think it looks amazing. :) I think I'll have to have a go at writing a Dizzy game on Fuze too!
Andrew Oliver -
Now that's high praise indeed - that's the father of Dizzy right there! (or at least one of them)

Moving platforms sorted! Actually, since we have an energy bar, 3 lives and no instant death for water, I’m having to look for every opportunity for danger...
@DizzysDad - from one Andrew to another! Thanks so much for your encouragement (I did reply to your comment on my tweet but forgot to “tag” - I barely use it!). I’m really excited to see what you come up with and my breath is already bated for Wonderful Dizzy :D
-
Since @Jonboy very kindly sent me a tile sheet, progress has been much faster. My coding is improving too - I got this working on my first try :D. The map is almost complete, then I’ll just have the puzzles to code.

Ok, after 4 months and 400 hours (or more!) of fun, I can finally say, that I give to you... TYCOON DIZZY!
At 55 screens, it’s a standard-sized Dizzy adventure. It’s loosely themed around Monopoly (gotta have a theme!) and of course it’s in the mighty ZX style. I don’t think any of the puzzles are too fiendish, and there are clues for the harder ones.
The download code is NRZXVMNDXH.(Oh, and if anyone is wondering whether the stress of drawing a map with pixel-perfect collisions and everything else using a controller whose analogs delight themselves in shooting upwards every 2-10 seconds was enough to trigger a breakdown... I can tell you it was.)
-
Wow! Amazing! Can't wait to try it out.
Congratulations on finishing it!
