          Are you typing in RGB values (divded by 255) and seeing darker colours than you expect? If so I can explain that but need to dig out the thread.

              turns out I made a silly mistake
              I did notice a difference (but not really significant), but after that I started experimenting with the colors, and set the text to silver for some reason

              so optical illusion seems to be quite right haha
