Hi folks. There have been a couple of program sharing submissions recently which breached our rejection criteria and since there is currently no way of us letting a user know why their program was rejected (this is something we aim to have in future!), I thought it would be wise to put a list of general rules here:

Your program will be rejected by us for code sharing if:

      1. There is any adult content or references to adult material in your program code, associated assets, comments, etc. This ranges from profanity to references of explicit material of any kind.

      2. You have included sensitive personal information in your project. Sharing your name is of course absolutely fine, but links to YouTube channels, personal Social Media pages, or email addresses will be rejected due to protecting vulnerable users.

      3. Your program is a blatant copy of another user's program with no acknowledgement or thanks to the original author. This is a difficult one to define. It's unfortunately a case of "we know it when we see it". Fuze is an open community about learning and showcasing creativity, talent and hard work. By submitting a program to code sharing, you are also agreeing to your code being shared amongst other users, and of course by extension, edited by them. However - there is a level of respect we expect to see for other users who have put so much time and effort into a piece of work. Copying their program outright and making no reference or thanks to the original author is disrespectful, and depending on the severity of this, it could be grounds for rejection.

Please also understand that a rejection does not affect any future programs. A rejection applies only to the program in question.

If you think you have seen any programs which violate these criteria, please let us know and we will look into it. Preferably this should be done via private message on Fuze Arena to a Fuze Team member, or via the email address contact@fuze.co.uk

      Thanks!

Thanks for the info. It had never even crossed my mind that including an email address could be grounds for rejection.

I’m guessing number 1 could be boiled down to ’keep it PG’ ?

And this is just for public share with a download code, right?

Can we send an email to appeal or ask for reasons why, if a program is rejected?

This is very helpful. I try to keep my games PG and will always ask if something is inappropriate or violates the conduct of Fuze. Right now I'm diving into the horror genre and trying to keep that PG is pretty hard when you wanna scare someone and have dialog

@toxibunny Yes, in short the advice is "keep it PG".

Correct, this is for publis share with download code. No such rules apply to sharing with someone in your Nintendo Friends.

You are always welcome to send an email, yes!

@JMM161437 I think Toxi's general idea there is a good guiding principle. Some level of "threat" is fine, fantasy violence is also okay. Themes of mild horror are totally fine. Where it would cross the line is when it goes into gratuitous violence.

I would recommend sending me a message about your ideas if there is any uncertainty. I'm always happy to discuss specifics!

If a game is rejected, does it's status turn to rejected or does it just look like it's pending forever?

I was going to ask that, do we get told the program was rejected or is the creator kind of left in the dark?

Is the sharing of your discord not allowed?
Does it count as social media

@Richard @SteveZX81 It will display "Rejected" on the Status in "My Shared Programs" section.
