Introduce Yourself

Hello! I am a retired software engineer/developer. I've been programming since the 80s (COBOL, PASCAL, C, C++) and retired at the end of 2017 so I've programmed in every major language (I think) and have worked on enterprise systems as well as software for non-profits.
I saw @SwitchedOn 's video (I've been a subscriber for some time) and thought I would join the community and see what I can make. I hate doing the graphical side of things but it looks like there is quite a few assets available for use.I'd really like to make a Science Fiction RPG with turn-based combat...

Hi,
I'm Mario, Software Engineer from Berlin, Germany, passionate about code, people, and innovation.
Loving the community and the Fuze š!

I just realized that Iāve never introduced myself.
My name is Ben I am currently in 11th grade. I love programming. Iām learning c# in school but I like Fuze much better. Ever since Iāve joined fuze I have been really surprised by how fast I learn compared to other programming languages. -
I'm Jonathan.
i am 21 years old. My first language i ever learned was Processing. I've been programming for just over a year now. i learned how to program in Processing from a guy named Daniel Shiffman who runs the channel called "The Coding Train" on youtube. Later, I joined Udemy.com and learned how to code with Unity using C#.Let me tell you where i first got my inspiration from to code. It was minecraft. Yes, minecraft made me want to code. Back when the xbox one released, i got my first xbox 360. I played minecraft non stop after i got it. I came across this ore called redstone one day in survival. I looked up what it was for and realized people have been making computers with this. Building them from scratch all the way down to the basic logic gates. After a few years, i was finally able to remember enough from all those youtube videos to create my own redstone computer. I have made well over 30 of them, but my favorite part was not building them, it was programming them. Of course, programming them was using the machine language, binary or hexadecimal. If you want to see some of what i mean, i do have a youtube channel that has some of my projects on it. If you do look me up, BTM II was my last "completed" project. Completed being it works how i want but i want to add more to it.

Back around April of last year, i finally bought my first computer to start really programming on it instead of using my phone. I've been loving programming ever since and been looking for a community that i would love to be a part of. I think i may have found it.

Hi,
My name is Hector and i'm french. I love making simple games on my free time, and i'd like it to become my profession. I own a nintendo switch and when I saw fuze on the eshop, I immediately bought it. I think it's such an amazing platform for beginning programmers, and I don't understand why doesn't everyone talk about it. (sorry if my english is not perfect) -
Hello, im Darren.
I started programming in basic and typing out pages of listings from magazines with an Amstrad CPC 464 many years ago. I then used YABASIC on a PS2 very briefly when that came out. I have never really finished making a game, but with FUZE4NS and with so many tutorials available i'm hoping to have my first finished game within the next few days. -
Hi, Andrew here. I took my 7 year old daughter to a FUZE workshop yesterday and hung around to see what it was all about. We both really loved it and look forward to learning a bit more here. I have a bit of experience in HTML and working with audio software development in MAX/MSP but really want to learn more about coding for games. We're both big fans of retro gaming and we're planning to both learn FUZE to create our own some day!

Hi, my nameās Andy, 34, I downloaded FUZE about three weeks ago and have been loving it so far! I started out programming little BASIC games on my ZX - I loved what it could do graphically but was always frustrated it didnāt have more power, as whenever I got seriously into a game, slowdown would make it unplayable. So Iām delighted I can revisit this.
More recently I made some Dizzy games with the excellent DizzyAGE engine (including a Father Ted themed one). The language is a little different, but lots of fun to play with.
As Iām something of a control freak I only plan to make games with graphics I can draw myself - so expect some old-skool looking things coming soon! Iām currently working on a remake of an old ZX RPG with randomly generated maps - so far so good, and I really hope I can finish it without getting too stuck!

Hi, name's Jason. Started off with a TI-994A in the states and then moved to England and got myself an Amstrad. I eventually got into programming professionally and I've spent 20 years in the field doing non-game related development. My day-to-day coding is usually Java. But I've touched almost all of them; Basic, Forth, Haskell, C, C++, C#, Python, and my favorite which is Rust. I ran across Fuze a couple of days ago and I'm enjoying myself immensely. This is really taking me back to some of my earlier days and that moment of wonder when you create something neat and see it running in your hands for the first time.
My first program I'm working on is playing with boid flocking and I'm really excited to see if I can build from an open world, exploration concept.

Hi, my name is Christian. I'm from Paris, France and I like programming as a hobby since my apple II plus.
I was pleased to see Fuze 4 for the Switch as it offers to code easily and have immediatly a result I find much more shiny to see and use than on a PC. -
Hi, Iām andy, and Iāve also enjoyed programming since the 8-bit days. Iāve liked faffing about with SmileBasic/petit computer and python in the past, and remember Discostewās amazing megaman 2 port from back then. Iāve also been aware of Fuze since way back because I remember it began on the Raspberry Pi :)
Iām really enjoying this. At the moment, Iām making some progress towards a 3d game called āsquishyā, designed by my kids. Progress so far has been really remarkably quick. Mostly so far because the āTerrainā functions are awesome, the ability to make your own functions and not having line numbers is great, and lots of things Iāve tried have ājust workedā! Probably the Python influence.
I think the āfuze playerā is ingenious - it inspires fuze owners to complete projects to put on there, is free games to everyone else, many of which will be inspired to buy fuze to make their own projects to put on there, increasing the amount of free games making fuze player even better making more people want to get it etc etc. Awesome.
So thereās my introductory post then.

Hey I'm Moonflower! I'm a self taught fine artist in my 20s, from Canada. I originally went to university for marketing, but dropped out a few years ago to pursue a career in art, something I've had a love for since i was young.
I work with both traditional mediums (oil paints, charcoal, graphite), as well as digital mediums (3d work, graphic design, procreate). I also love to write poetry, and every now and then I enjoy playing instruments / creating my own melodies.
Due to quarantine, I've been gaming more than usual, and I got the sudden inspiration to try out game creation as a new way to express myself. I stumbled upon a youtube video about Fuze, and was thrilled. I thought, okay this would be the perfect way for me to practice coding, while trying my hand out at creating a game of my own. I'm thinking of creating something along the lines of a visual novel, so I can combine my love for art and my love for writing.
While coding is something that still intimidates me a bit, I'm excited to be a part of a community with both experienced programmers and beginners to learn + grow alongside with :)
(here's some of my work)

My name is Simone, I am Italian and I play games out of passion. I studied as a programmer but found out later that I like to practice programming as a hobby and not as a job. I do quite a lot of work. I like to keep it as a passion because I don't want working on it to hate programming. I met Fuze a little over 1 week from a youtubers. For now I'm doing little things to get into Fuze's syntax. I already know that I will have a lot of fun

hi, my name is gianluigi, GiggiBilli or Giggi if you prefer, for many years I am passionate about programming, I think this interest was born with the arrival of the C64, I could never devote much time to him and therefore I can say that I am new in the field, I only discovered fuze the day before yesterday and I decided to take a look at it also for the paltry cost, for now I'm reading the documentation, I hope to learn at least to move a square on the screen

Hi everyone Iāve been here from the beginning but have been shying away in the shadows. Only just now starting to interact - apologies.
Been coding for years, my uncle got me into it as a kid and we had a hell of a bond through programming. Unfortunately he died last year after a long long illness and it walloped me as Iād not seen him for years - with his illness I kept putting it off thinking weād catch up properly āwhen heās betterā. I regret every day that I didnāt see him at the end of his life after he made such a big impact on the early years of mine.
To that end Iām wanting to recreate some of the ideas we had all those years ago on the Amiga (another keen Amos user here!) and hopefully do them justice. If not itāll be a blast messing about again.
I have 3 amazing kids who are creative in their own right. Oldest one I thinks just missed the boat on the programming bug window, youngest one is too young and too hellbent on Fortnite but middle one seems to have an interest. Iām keen on nurturing that without forcing it on her. Weāll see.Other hobbies are photography and exploring abandoned buildings (which incorporates the photography to an extent). Not for everyone but I love it, gets the heart racing and I see some crazy places.
Anyone interested check out

Hello everyone. I am Steve aka "spt games". I am 38.
I like messing about with code and have made silly throw away games in JavaScript, C#, DarkBASIC Classic and even Pascal.
I am a software developer so occasionally code at work too (you won't believe how much time is spent in meetings!)
Being able to code and play 2D and 3D on my Switch appealed to me and just had to get it and try it out.
Looking forward to coding some cool things and engaging with the community.

Hi Fuze Friends!
Alien here. My son is 12 and I've been doing an awful job of getting him excited about programming. We were doing 'Python the Hard Way' which is a great system but when you're 12 it doesn't cut the mustard in the fun department. Then Fuze came a long and wow, things changed! He's wanted to make his own game for awhile now, and the sample programs have inspired him it's actually possible!
I've been around programming courses my whole life, and the Fuze tutorials are really impressive. They've made complex topics accessible and also the wacky pair programming banter keeps us coming back for more.
Thanks for making this project a reality. Can't wait to dive.

Hi. I'm Jamie. Similar to others my coding experience started as a lad in the 80s (on the display models in the computer dept of WH Smiths while my mum shopped, copy of Home Computer in hand!) and then later on our own ZX Spectrum. Later worked in VB6, Fortran, bit of C, Unix etc and a homebrew language. Not coded for a while now. But as a Nintendo fan was super-excited when the Switch came out, and now looking forward to starting to use Fuze (downloading right now).

Hello everyone, I'm Fifine a french housewife who is near 40. I have never coded in my life before. I like video game and i love to create thing but i never plan to code game, even if i wanted to. All my life, i wasn't good at math and coding was said to be pretty diffcult. So I simply never tried. However, i am fascinated by languages. Yes, i learnt chinses as an autodidact (I am on an intermediate level right now) and i wanted to try something new and completely different. I remember when I was a child i was fascinated (and jealous) to see my brother to do simple code on his calculator. I always wanted to do this but i always considered that i would never be competent enough. I alway wanted to try but I always feared failure. It was purely by coincidence that i learnt few days ago the existence of Fuze4 on Switch. I bought it three days ago when i learnt the tutorial were pretty good for complete beghinners. It's exactly what i wanted ! I coded some of the tutorial projects, i have now coded the "loop" tutorial project, the "variables" tutorial project, the "if...then" tutorial project, the "screen" project and the"arry" tutorial project. And you know what, i find it pretty satisfying !
I still didn't share the project, I will do it later. But frankly, thanks to Fuze I am abble to discover a new world that i alway wanted to explore. Thanks a lot Fuze team.Sorry for my crappy english.
