Thought experiment: FUZE4Players
-
Sorry if this beats a dead horse. I had a thought: perhaps down the road there might be a low-rent "FUZE4Players" app on the Eshop. It could contain a curated selection of user programs, kind of like a "FUZE community greatest hits." It would go through the same Nintendo approval process as any other game. FUZE Team curation and Nintendo testing/approval would ensure that UGC is non-malicious and appropriate to FUZE's ESRB rating.
I'm in an odd position, because I know a bunch of Switch owners, but only two of them are programmers, and the rest aren't interested in programming. And one of those programmers is me. So in terms of people I actually know in real life, the only folks I can recommend the system to are... my friend Joe.
On the other hand, everyone I know with a Switch would chomp at the bit to play even a small game written by me. If there's a way for them to do that without spending a full $40 on the FUZE4 IDE, instead paying say $5 or $10 on the outside, there could be a tantalizing upsell featured prominently on the FUZE4Players' title screen for the full version. "Want to make your own game? Visit the Eshop!"
Again if this specific idea has already been mentioned, my apologies. I know the devs are aware that people want better ways to share their creations, and that some have asked to be able to release via Eshop. This seemed like an interesting thought experiment in compromise, so I decided to share it.

I think it's a very good idea and a good way to make FUZE community grow.
And with FUZE4Players, I believe there will be more people want to have a try at coding -
A nintendo shareware page, cool.

Don't worry - even if the horse is thoroughly beaten it's still great to get the ideas of users expressed like this. Your thoughts are similar to ours - that much I can say :) I would direct you to a comment I made elsewhere yesterday:
@Dave said in Is it possible to have..:
It's worth saying here that sharing in Fuze is not going to remain as it is. There will be changes made in the future, and from what I can see here, you will be happy with the ideas we've got going on. I can't say anything very concrete until a later date.

I am confused as to why this would even be a challenge with Nintendo when things like Trials Rising is allowed? Their editor allows visual programming and creation of tons of different games, not only tracks! They even have a community section where you can share your creations and EVERYONE who has the game can play and rate it! With featured, top rated, most played lists etc.
Also, I know a few people personally who would gladly pay $5-10 for the ability to play a bunch of custom made games on their Switch and most of them have no interest in actually programming them. I believe there's definitely a market for something like this.
How cool would it be to be able to share our creations with a larger audience of gamers who could then rate and comment on them! 🤗

As already stated above. We know what people desire from a sharing perspective and it’s in-hand. That’s all we can say right now
