Typing too fast on physical keyboards causes multiple characters

I honestly think this is more of a Switch issue than a FUZE issue. I have a Raspberry Pi Zero Wireless set up to emulate a USB Keyboard (HID). Been able to replicate keystrokes perfectly when it's connected to a PC and even the Wii U's browser, but with Switch, it randomly skips keystrokes. When an HID packet is sent to act like a key press, like pressing "A", what it should do is repeat "A" until another HID packet is sent to call for an all key release. On Switch, however, there is no repeating, so it works with keyboards differently.

I have seen this with one other 'fast' typer on F4NS. I think it is our issue and it will definitely be addressed. However it won't be in the first patch as that is already in the approval process. It will be in the second on though.

I definitely have this same problem. Because of it, Iām actually faster with the touch keyboard than ideally with my usb keyboard. š

@Jonboy I've been still seeing this after the V.0.2.12 patch. Was this addressed, or were you talking about the patch after V.0.2.12? If I slow down my typing it's okay, but I'm definitely seeing some duplicate characters if I type at my normal speed.

I notice this as well. At first i thought it was a keyboard repeat rate issue. It doesn't seem to happen when you hold down a key but does happen if you type different keys somewhat quickly. It happens on several keyboards.

I noticed behavior that may be related and might be helpful:
- If numlock is on, and I press a number om the numpad, it is typed twice (except for 5)
- If I press and hold the number, it's first added twice, then a pause, then more of the digit are added again quickly, 2 at the time. (so the expected behavior, except in double digits)
- Pressing numlock once resolved this issue for me, alternatively, if you press shift while typing numbers on numpad, the issue is not there either
- I use a "Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 V1.0" in good condition (without these type of issues on PC)

issues related to keyboard have at least in part been addressed in the upcoming patch.

That's good to hear. Something I hadn't mentioned but seems even more important to me (now I've attached my keyboard and actually started some coding): my hardware keyboard has a different layout than FUZE4 assumes (USA qwerty layout, so on the right of the P I only have 3 buttons, so I can't type a backslash)

Have you got your layout set correctly on your Switch? Check in "Settings / System / USB Keyboard" from the Switch home menu. For example, my Switch is set to English UK but I use a US keyboard*. I set "English (US)" under USB Keyboard in the switch settings and Fuze just does what it's told.
Fuze itself doesn't use a particular layout, it just uses whatever you've set for the USB keyboard in the switch settings.
* I actally use UK Mac keyboard but US is way closer to it than UK

Thanks! That solved the issue. I did had to fully close FUZE4 and then start it again, but that makes sense to me :)
