Image Editor is broken
-
Specifically, the color picker.
When you push the button, its like rolling a 4 sided dice. You either:- Have nothing happen at all
- It picks a color just slightly brighter than the one you want
- It picks a color just slightly darker than you want
- It actually picks the color you selected
I don't know why this is, but it is.
Also, the circle tool is utterly useless, it's always one pixel off from where you want it and it can't do evenly sized circles, just odd ones.
-
@Retrocade_media Whenever I'm working on a game, I always have my notebook right next to me-- part of why is so I can write down my color RGB values, because I know the picker won't get it right :D
I spent a lot of time making "STOS" games on my Atari ST anyway, so I'm used to palette management. But hopefully they'll fix this in the next patch.

The image editor does have its problems for sure. I think calling it utterly useless is rather harsh tbh but yeah I do have problems with it from time to time also but I'm confident the guys will fix it and improve it.
-
@SteveZX81 I don't think the Image editor is useless, just the circle tool in its current state (imo).
-
If you're not happy with the circle tool, how about entering the RGBA values directly? People asked for it, so it was added in the last update!
-
Ya tell then Martin

@Martin I have been, however I've been trying to port over some of my favorite palettes, but that's not very useful if the color picker doesn't work. I love the new ability to put in values directly, it's great, but I'd like to be able to input values and then have them stay that way when I select the color again
-
@Retrocade_media I agree that it should be fixed.
I'd probably rate fixing the color picker as a "medium" priority bug-- not some kind of critical issue, but it does materially impact the use of the tool.
Plus, it's probably a really easy bug fix, so it might be one of those "low hanging fruit" situations.
