Subs 2 - Dive Dive Dive!

Hello folks, thought I'd give you an update on the follow up to my subs v1.3 game.
I have been working on it a few days but my time is also shared on another game which is a long term effort, so progress is not as swift as could be.
Subs 2 takes the game to a different angle, this time instead of destroying submarines, you are the sub and have to sink as many 'legit' ships as possible.
I will post a couple of work in progress images, the first is the game 4-5 days ago.
This shows pretty much the same view as the old subs game, so I decided to switch to a periscope view like the old Silent Service game.
The image above shows my first attempt at the view, plain but servicable.
since then I have moved on a little to this.
I have spent a LOT of time in the image editor zoomed in doing a poor attempt at shading, it seems to be quite decent, well.. playable, but man it's a killer on my fingers, damn arthritis is a pain folks, don't get it ;)
anyway this is as far as I am right now, I have to thank DoumDoum for kindly letting me use and edit his cool minimap code!
I hope to bring more updates and a video or two in the upcoming week.

Ships done, yes they suck but what can you do. I'm lousy at art ;)
I might animate a couple of them at a later date but at that scale I'm not sure it's worth it. -

Minor update. been spending a lot of time trying to tidy and sort out my horrible code, before I start adding new stuff.
- removed the old animated torpedo display. I didn't feel it fit the game
- added a new torpedo display panel and created a custom font (sadly my art style sucks so it's the best I could do)
